My Adsense Fiasco: Why I'm not going to use Google Adsense to Monetize my Blog

From the Blog the-emo-wolverine-writesClearly, I will not be able to monetize my blog through Adsense, considering they straight up rejected me and I can't seem to figure out what the problem is exactly.... The more I researched over (what little, dejected research I did), the more I realized it was probably best if I didn't jump in to waters too shallow for my taste. You interested? Well then. Let's get started. I applied for Adsense sometime in March. The months are important because throughout February, I had not been posting much and there had not been much traffic either. I'm ASSUMING that's why Google sent me this rejection letter: Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Unfortunately, after reviewing your application, we're unable to accept you into AdSense at this time. We did not approve your applipakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

5 Ice Cream Spots in Karachi you can't miss!

From the Blog cheflingtales These days, I'm combating this *shadeed garmi *the only way I know how, and that is with the help of ice cream (Although no one ever really needs a reason to have ice cream, do they?)! Fun fact: did you know that it takes 50 licks to finish a single scoop ice cream cone? Go on, give it a try [image: 😀] Do you usually struggle with finding the best ice cream? Then your troubles end here. Being the nice person that I am (:p) I wouldn't keep the names of top 5 places in Karachi (IMO) that offer premium ice cream to myself. So here goes: *The Coldstone Creamery* This American creamery made its way to Karachi just a couple of years ago and I remember how it made excited butterflies flutter around in my stomach when I got to know about it. It now has two outlets in Karachi, much pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Beware of Linguistic and Cultural Terrorism

From the Blog firewithin-jhb Fourth Generation War is essentially a civilian (non-military) doctrine which is characterized by attack on ideology, culture and social values, small combat actions by non state actors, media and information warfare and psychological operations. In such warfare the media persons and journalists are purchased for propagating a set pattern of information and the target nation is broken into various segments on racial, sectarian and linguistic grounds. Recently, there has been an adaption of many Hindi words for which already alternatives in Urdu exist. But our writers and TV channels, mostly having loyalties and funding from India, prefer to use the Hindi words to express their linkages with India. Herein under are some of the examples of many words being replaced: ابتدا pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

5 Reasons Why I love Colourpop - By Terri Heckley

From the Blog jasminecatchesbutterfliesColourpop is one of those brands you've probably seen so much about in the beauty community, and there's a good reason for it. Hisper: fortress of ice and snow

From the Blog odysseuslahoriThe Biafo-Hisper glacial system, extending ninety-eight kilometres in a gleaming white line of ice clenched within the jaws of the most dramatic granite spires, is among the longest ice stream outside of the polar regions. Its southeast end rests a few kilometres from the Balti village of Askole while in the northwest the houses of Nagar feel the icy blasts of wind scudding down its surface. Right in the middle, equidistant from both ends of the glacier, there sits the gentle saddle of the pass that the people of Nagar know as Hisper. For the people of Baltistan, this is R'Dzong La (Pass), however. Now, R'Dzong in Balti signifies a small defensive turret. It receives about $16.5 million a year share from the International Cricket Council (ICC) as part of the new revenue sharing model while the rest comes from Pakistan Super League (PSL) and multiple bilateral cricket series with other ICC member nations. PCB could earn significantly more if India, with its huge media market, agrees to honor its prior commitments to play bilateral series with Pakistan. PCB has threatened to sue BCCI for to recover $200 million in lost revenue since 2007. *ICC Revenue Sharing:* Under a new deal announced by the International Cricket Club (ICC) after its recent board meeting in Dubai, Pakistan's PCB will receive $132 mipakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Egyptian Food Festival at Asia Live, Avari Towers

From the Blog jasminecatchesbutterfliesOnce again, I am back with another food post, but I am glad that most of you guys do appreciate these. So, last Saturday I got to attend the Egyptian Food Festival at Avari Towers, and here is all that you need to know about it. Now, I have had Middle Eastern food a lot in this lifetime for I have been to quite a few Arab countries and also do have family friends from the Middle East. Personally speaking, I love my spices so I do prefer Pakistani food over everything, but there are obviously tasty treats that the Middle East has to offer as well. That being said, this was my first time trying out Egyptian cuisine and boy, I was excited. Egypt has such a rich historical background and I am so intrigued by it that I went in expecting that it would somehow reflect in the food as wepakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

The Rise of Stripes And Gingham

The two prints have been so popular in the world of fashion and I have seen nearly everyone from the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, to supermodels, to all the stylish babes in town, rocking either or both of these. Hence, it is safe to say that these prints have to be incorporated into your wardrobes in order to stay trendy. Folklore: The Haunted House of Sanghar

From the Blog odysseuslahoriWow! This must be the Addams Family home!" I said as my friend Hameed Mallah drove through the open iron gate. It was almost 10pm, one March night in 2010 or the year after. Before us lay a brick driveway bordered on the left by a hedge that hadn't seen a topiarist's hand and shears in ages. Spread out on the right was an open plot that could have been a perfect flower-spangled garden around a patio. But it wasn't. The creepy interior of the Sindh Irrigation Department resthouse in Sanghar The house stood at the apex of the arc of the driveway: two-storeyed with what we call a mumti in Punjabi, at the top. In front was a car porch, its pale blue tiles offsetting the general dreariness of the building. The Screen of the Future

From the Blog faisalkhan What comes to mind when you think about future technology? Say 25 years from now; is it wearable computing tech? Smart screens? Eyewear? Come to think about it, what will happen when wearable computing becomes mainstream? Will it spell the end of the desktop? Would the World Wide Web disappear? How will you view the information on websites? What about mobile content, would it disappear? Moreover, if desktops and smartphones become obsolete then how will information be displayed? All good questions that web developers, digital marketers, web designers and even content creators should think about because whether we want to or not, the future of screen is evolving (and quite rapidly at that). For starters, the World Wide Web will probably stay. However, in 25 years from now, the pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Why Health Insurance is NOT a Thing to Avoid

From the Blog smartchoice Are you worried about your financial problems and your varying health patterns while having too much to deal with? Health insurance is the key to lighten up this extra burden in your life. Health insurance is when you insure the availability of money via an insurance company of your choice, for the chance of an unfortunate circumstance such as an injury or an illness that requires a lot of money to be treated. In Pakistan, mostly salaried people or people who earn a mediocre amount of money pay a specified amount to insurance companies as per their packages to ensure that money is available to pay for health care. The company then holds responsibility to make the money available when you require it. Different companies offer different packages and you choose according to what pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Kirkit Again

From the Blog odysseuslahoriSomeone connected with kirkit has finally woken up. It's this man called Lara. But first of all, let's get one thing straight: his name. It is mispronounced by those speakers of that utterly deficient language called English because they cannot produce the hard palatal r that we of the great subcontinent can. The man's name in its uncorrupted form is actually لاڑا which means bridegroom in Punjabi. I don't know when this blighter got married – or even if he ever did – but it's a bit of an overkill to continue to call himself bridegroom all the time. If he is not married, I suspect a deep longing for the event to occur in his life. And if he is married the man is bloody suicidal. I suppose he has converted to the one and only true faith. Why is M-Pesa the poster child for financial inclusion?

From the Blog faisalkhan Mpesa, mobile money transfer tool, is the *very* best example of success when it comes to financial inclusion. Mobile banking products have gradually become famous in many developing nations for making debit and credit transfers, bill payments, and online purchases; catering to unbanked population and helping them with local money transfers. And, Mpesa is no different. Mpesa is almost a decade old mobile money digital wallet which gives the user accessibility of money on mobile phones. It transforms the mobile phone into a bank account and gives one the freedom to transact 24/7. The service is available in Kenya, South Africa, India, Tanzania, Afghanistan and a few other nations. Curtailing These Bad Behaviors at Work (The Bosses – 4th installment)

From the Blog iabhopal Click here to read 1st Installment Click here to read 2nd Installment Click here to read 3rd Installment These types of interactions are more than just theoretical; they happen in offices every day. In fact, Maner's research initially grew out of complaints from a friend about her boss's bad behavior. So how do organizations, which want teams to function as cohesively as possible, prevent this sort of sabotage from above? One key is making sure that leaders' job security is contingent upon the success of their group and ensuring those leaders know that they will be held accountable for their actions, Maner says. "If leaders knew that their decisions were public and could have ramifications for the support they receive, I think that might undercut some of this corrupt behavior,"pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments
