Pulwama Reactions; US-Taliban Talks; MBS in Pakistan

From the Blog riazhaqIs the tragic Pulwama attack in Kashmir a surprise? Are Modi's policies of relying on force alone contributing to rising violence in Kashmir and across India? Is blaming Pakistan just a distraction from the core issues in India? Why has India seen the world's highest number of bomb blasts, more than in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan in the last two years? And why does Chattisgarh top the list of places with the highest number of bomb blasts followed by Manipur, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Indian-occupied Kashmir? Do the Modi policy of crushing Maoists and Kashmiri resistance make any sense? Can India tackle these issues by force alone without a parallel political strategy and peace process? Books peek from shelves!

Feeling suicidal.

From the Blog furreekattThis post isn't a call for help. It's just something I need to put out into the world because it's more than my head can take right now. The first time I felt suicidal was at age 19. I will be 25 next month - so it's been almost 6 years of having suicidal thoughts at least once a day. I have attempted to kill myself on two occasions. Honestly - I'm actually proud of how much self control I've had. 2190 days, only 2 days where it's been unbearable. I'm generally a very private person, and I haven't shared my thoughts on this subject with many people. For one, it doesn't really come up in conversation. I don't think it's a necessary topic for me to discuss. I have shared bits and pieces with people that I think are really important to me - my parents, my brother, my boyfriend, andpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments 280671841470085357 Pakistani Blog Posts

IMF endgame?

From the Blog lahoreschoolofeconomics "The best is the enemy of the good" — a saying Pakistan's pre-eminent economist, Dr Mahbubul Haq, often repeated. As Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) move closer to signing an agreement for a three-year programme, both would do well to heed this practical advice. Currently, the remaining points of contention are more regarding the pace and sequencing of short-term stabilisation measures, and not the fundamental reforms that need to be undertaken, on which there is broad agreement. The government has been rather slow to fully comprehend the precarious macroeconomic situation it has inherited. The continuing rapid decline in foreign exchange reserves, at almost $1 billion a month, even after considerable replenishment, is stark proof that our current account sipakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

What is not included in your Travel Insurance Policy?

From the Blog smartchoice Most of the people have a travel plan already set out before they embark on their trip. A travel plan usually includes information on travel destination, flight tickets, accommodation & other bookings, tourist places to visit, places to eat, list of important documents to carry along (passport, visa, ID proof) and some small but important items that might be needed during the journey. Now many of you might think that this list is complete but the most important item missing in this list is travel insurance. But is it important to buy travel insurance? What, really, is the world worth?

From the Blog mehmudahrehman Our beloved Prophet Mohammed (May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said that the 2 units of sunnah prayer before the Fajr Salah are better than the entire world and all it contains. Then what really, is the rat race for? The heartbreaks, the better position, the 'ME' we sometimes so blindly follow? Deception? Let go. It's not that important. Match 1: Islamabad United's Comeback Earns Reigning Champions a Remarkable Win [Report]

From the Blog propakistani The first match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2019 proved to be a remarkable spectacle for the fans. Following the grand opening, both teams took center stage and put up a great show. First Innings – Lahore Qalandars Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field first. The decision proved costly at the beginning as Fakhar Zaman and Sohail Akhtar opened the innings for Lahore Qalandars and took the game to the opposition. Soon after the start of the innings, both openers hit top gear with Fakhar reaching his half-century from just 34 balls. His partner, Sohail also fared well as he scored 37 from 30 deliveries. So You Think You Can or CAN or CAN'T?

From the Blog powerofthought I keep harping on the thought: *Whatever we think, we become.* Some of you tell me it's not possible and that all of this positive thinking talk is bullshit. And you are *right*. Most of you would agree with the fact that if we think good things, and try to push away the negative thoughts, we will be able to move towards our goals, dreams or *destiny*. If one keeps thinking about how something *can't* be done, then it *won't* be done – for sure. Henry Ford couldn't have said it better: *"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't: You are right!*" A short poem by C.W. Longnecker which I posted a while ago on this blog sums it all up beautifully: *If you think you are beaten, you are, If you think you dare not, you don't.* *If you like to win, but you think you can'tpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments 6564570783684458628 Pakistani Blog Posts

What's In For Us…

From the Blog snowysensation The Prime Minister has gone back on his words of not taking loans soo many times that people are either mocking him or blindly supporting his way of doing things. I agree with the previous views of IK that no one would give you money because they like you. There are terms and conditions that make you their slaves when you ask for money. The other day, IK's advisor said that it is only because that the Prime Minister is an honest man that the world is coming in to invest in Pakistan. Like seriously ?! Are they that naive?? Who made this perception that pink is to worn by girls. Colors. ....So I bought myself a red jacket. Its not the debate of perception of colors....its my changing behavior.
