St. Ives Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub Review

From the Blog jasminecatchesbutterflies[image: St. Ives Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub Review] After the St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub, I wanted to try something different from their range and ended up picking this interesting sounding St. Ives Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Scrub. Heads up, I am a reptile for the most part of the year so I love me a good scrub and in fact, I am kind of a scrub hoarder. So I got this scrub because how often do you even hear Pink Lemon? At least, I never had before and the citrusy combo seemed quite appealing to me. But how did it fare for its 'Even and Bright' claims? You will soon (and by soon, I mean soon, since we won't linger) find out. The first time I tried this scrub, I noticed how much gentler it felt than the apricot one, but soon learned that if I take more amountpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Political impacts of local bodies elections in Punjab politics

From the Blog hallopakistan*The soul of democracy is in devolution of power. Why Western democracies are surviving and flourishing because political parties are run democratically and new dynamic and young leadership which is reasonably experienced is available to replace older lot. The nursery of this new leadership are local bodies or local councils. Its unfortunate that democratic governments of Pakistan's record of local bodies election is poor if not pathetic. Local bodies elections only took place during military rule. We are unable to held local bodies election in last 10 years despite we have democratic governments. There are many reasons but the biggest tis hat most of MP's not like new crop of politicians who may challenge them in next parliamentary elections. It will take ages by the time you feel my love

From the Blog tanveerrauf [image: I-miss-you-very-innocent-and-sad-girl] It will take ages by the time you feel my love I would perish by the time you value my love The world is engulfed by trials and suffering Who knows who would overcome bravely? Love is enduring but the desire is impatient, What to do? Hard to control my loving heart Am sure you won't ignore and overlook me I may turn to dust when you take note of it My life is similar to the delicate dew drops Your glance blaze me as dew dies by sunlight Rays of the sun falling on dew is its death So I exist only for your fleeting look at me The life is not more than an instance; it's Like a flame that flickers for an instance Glamorous festivity may be at its climax The candle must burn till sunrise pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

0.9% Muslims are irrelevant in American Presidential election; so why to be part of debate?

From the Blog hallopakistan*After recent rants against Muslims by Republican presidential candidates; I just Google how many Muslims are living in America and to my surprise just 0.9% of total American population.* *All those who ever participated in any kind of political activity in any part of the world would tell you that 0.9% is such a low figure that candidates not even bother to discuss them but for republicans it seems the biggest issue America is currently facing.* *If Muslims are as rich or as influential as 1.9% Jews of America still I can buy the theory but majority of them belonged to lower strata of society while rest of them are middle class professionals having almost negligible role in American policy making and economy.* *Many Americans in their entire lives never meet any Muslim but why tpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Rise of Sangh Parivar: Modi Accelerating Total Hinduization of India?

From the Blog riazhaqThere have been serious questions raised about India's secularism since its independence in 1947. Such questions have gained new urgency with the rapid rise of Hindu Nationalists and the election of BJP leader Narendra Modi in 2014. Serious doubts about India's claim of secularism were articulated well by Indian journalist Kapil Komireddy in an Op Ed piece he wrote for the UK's Guardian newspaper a few years ago. Here's an excerpt of it: *"Indian Muslims in particular have rarely known a life uninterrupted by communal conflict or unimpaired by poverty and prejudice. Their grievances are legion, and the list of atrocities committed against them by the Indian state is long. 5 Must-Read Sophie Kinsella Novels

From the Blog noorsplaceToday, I'm quite excited to have a guest poster. Jamal, who is a fellow member of our book club (remember, the book club party?) & an avid reader, he's sharing the best books from Sophie Kinsella. She is one of my most favorite authors. Her humor is FLAWLESS, literally. My personal favorite book from her is I've Got Your Number. In the long run of authors, I can hardly put down books from Hashim Nadeem, Paulo Coelho, Sophie Kinsella and Dan Brown. Let's see what Jamal has to share with us today. Sophie Kinsella is one of the most popular and most followed authors in the world today. Known for her novels which revolve around women and their lives, she, in a matter of a few years, managed to get a loyal audience who seem to love her books. Silicon Valley Opposes Islamophobia: Celebrates Texas Teen Ahmed

The incident was highlighted by the Council on American Islamic Relations, a American Muslim Civil Rights group, as another egregious manifestation of anti-Muslim bigotry that prevails in many parts of the United States. Recent Blog Design Work

From the Blog noorsplaceI have been working on new blog designs for some fabulous bloggers. It's always a pleasure to get together on a project with like-minded people and help them achieve the best for their online presence. In past month, I did my first rebranding project along with a few custom blog designs. I am sharing some of my favorites on the blog today. *THE BLESSED BRIT* This is the custom blog design for Emma from *The Blessed Brit blog*. She's a college student and documents her academic life through her blog. As you can guess by the mood board I created for her, she wanted something clean yet girly. So we came up with this watercolor-filled floral look, where I used this bouquet from the talented artist Bella Loves Letters. Will any Pakistani judge also follow Allahabad High Court?

From the Blog hallopakistan*It appeared in Indian express that Allahabad High court asked Chief Secretary to ensure that children of government and public servants must study in government schools at least up to secondary level. * http://indianexpress.com/article/cities/lucknow/govt-servants-must-send-kids-to-govt-schools-allahabad-hc/ *Though, I am Pakistani but admired the bold decision taken by justice Sudhir Agarwal. It also shows that despite India and Pakistan are two separate countries with different majority religion, however, our social issues are same. The Anatomy of a performance

From the Blog beanbagtalesCrazy plans, usually, are made in the most calm moments. It was on a nice, pre-summer evening, somewhere in early April. It is that time of the year when the weather in Karachi is not monstrous and one can enjoy a smoke and chit chat in the great outdoors (read: terrace) with friends. While conversation flowed between hubby dear, Z and myself, one of us (I forget who) asked rather innocently if we could put up a new narrative performance this year? The other two nodded nonchalantly at first but with each passing minute the desire to create something overcame all rational thoughts and a performance started materializing. Books were taken off the shelf, dim lights were replaced by reading lamps and the music was turned low. Discussions followed over the merits and demerits of varpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Bloglanders: Breaking the Ice

From the Blog jasminecatchesbutterflies I have had Twitter since even before I got Facebook as far as I can recall. I admit, as a beginner it was a tough cookie and back in the day it was much much harder to figure out since nobody I knew was on it. It took me 3 years to actually use it and that was the time when I made this blog. However, it was only last year that I actually upped my networking game and around this time of the year, or maybe even a little late, I started participating in Twitter chats. I knew they existed, but I wasn't really into them until I saw *Noor Unnahar*, who is my lovely friend from *Noor's Place* blog, hosting her own Twitter chat called #socialbloggers one fine Saturday night. I enjoyed the session she held so much that I started chatting more frequently with other bloggers. That chat wapakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Does Pakistan film industry is suffering from Javed Sheikh Syndrome?

From the Blog hallopakistan Google Image *Javed Sheikh got big break through after Haseena Moin's drama Ankahi where he acted against Shehnaz Sheikh. Ankahi is considered as evergreen super hit but honestly it was not Javed Sheikh acting but strong script and direction plus acting of Shehnaz Sheikh, Shakeel, late Saleem Nasir, Late Jamshed Ansari, Bhehroz Sabazwari who is also brother in law of Javed Sheikh played pivotal role to make it an instinct hit. Karisma Kapoor in Bollywood movie Chal Mere Bhai try to copy Shehnaz Sheikh as most scenes are inspired from Ankahi drama but miserably failed both in content and acting.* *Son Shehzad Sheikh and daughter Momal Sheikh * *Later Javed become part of Lollywood and gave few hits with his new wife Salma Agha. Book Club Party

From the Blog noorsplaceOn Saturday, our book club celebrated its first birthday. With all the members gathered with their favorite reads & stories to tell, to celebrate the big day, it couldn't be more special. We reached there by the later afternoon. It was being held in one of my favorite cozy restaurants, Del Frio (they have a great menu) like it always does. The table already looked festive with the glorious Twix cake & the rest of the party essentials scattered on the table. This meet up was quite fun since we weren't only discussing the book of the month, but almost everything. I got some non-fiction suggestions that I am planning to read in next few days. Non-fiction is my new favorite genre. I have just started Don't Ever Tell which is the biography of Kathy O'Beirne and second biography in mypakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Book Review: Manuscript Found in Accra

From the Blog noorsplaceJuly was the best month for my reading routine. I got to read, like, 6 books and none of them disappointed me. I had a long list for August's to-read list but with college starting, a bundle of homework and my back-and-forth travelling didn't let me read much. Though it's just the start of September and I'm going to be back to my book club soon, so the reading schedule has got to be fine. I also realized how I don't love YA genre anymore. I used to read young adult novels only, but that was a time. I am becoming more interested in philosophy, political thrillers and non-fiction. Trust me, these genres used to bore me to death, but now I can't help myself. Paulo Coelho was the author of the month in our last book club meeting. A ROMANTIC BLISS

From the Blog faizansworld Near the bank of Indus there lived a girl as cold as winter snow and as warm as sunlight. Those traits resembled colors of light - just when light passes through pure crystals and rainbow prisms. Those hands when moved, moved the ocean waves; those fingers when raised, raised the mighty Sun; those eyes when closed, dispersed millions of stars in different directions; that dress when touched by wind, caused the Earth to revolve around her. Moon wished if it was a person that it would have proposed her.
