It was a disappointment for many at the university as well as our civil society. Sabeen Mahmud, founder of the Karachi-based cafe The Second Floor (T2F) and a peace activist, decided to hold the same talk at T2F. Titled ‘Unsilencing Balochistan (Take 2)’, the seminar went well. Sabeen posted pictures of the seminar on her Instagram feed. Later that evening, as she left T2F, Sabeen was gunned down in her car. Her assassination was absolutely shocking and devastating. Old Tower Market Photowalk

It didn't take much time for the shopkeepers, fruit sellers and grocers to start interacting with me. There were a lot of memorable moments. While I photographed someone, the others made fun of him. The current running module is LMS, which stands for LocoMotor System. (The other kids call it "Leave Med School"). Anatomy is a very interesting subject, but it is vast and detailed and doesn't seem to finish. It's amazing to see what's going on in our body and figuring out what movements muscles can produce. My Mother

The heart throb of the Bollywood industry has been sentenced to a five year imprisonment. This decision is as ironic as it is judicious. A person was killed when Salman Khan’s car slammed five people out of whom some recovered from their injuries whilst one embraced death. Thirteen years to get justice even after committing a clear cut homicide; the aggrieved party may have left the hope of getting justice from this rotten judicial system prevalent in the sub-continent. Gilgit: 7 MWM leaders declared abscondors by anti-terrorism court

From the Blog pamirtimes[image: Capture]Gilgit, May 6: Judge Shahbaz Khan of the Anti-Terrorism Court in Gilgit has said that seven leaders of the Majlis-e-Wehdatul Muslimeen are absconders in a case filed against them. The judge has ordered the seven leaders to appear in the court latest by 14th of May to defend themselves. The leaders declared absconders include Sheikh Nayyar Mustafvi, Sheikh Bilal Sumayri, Sheikh Shahdat Hussain, Sheikh Issa Advocate, Mathar Abbas, Ghulam Abbas and Jamal Haider. They are wanted in a case filed against them on 31st March after MWM staged a protest rally condemning Saudi Arabia’s attack on Yemen. The MWM leaders had rallied from Gilgit to Danyore, an adjacent town located across the Hanisara River. Easy to make parfait !

From the Blog odysseuslahori جموں کی پہاڑیوں سے نکلنے والی دیوکا یا ڈیگ ندی تاریخ میں متلون مزاجی کی وجہ سے خاصی بدنام رہی ہے۔ عام طور پر تو یہ ایک معمولی سے دھارے کی شکل میں رہتی ہے، لیکن ساون بھادوں کی بارش میں بپھرا ہوا اژدہا بن جاتی ہے۔ تزکِ جہانگیری سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ سنہ 1620 کے بھادوں کی بارشوں میں شکار کے بعد شہنشاہ جہانگیر نے اس پر ایک پل باندھنے کا حکم دیا تھا۔ چند ہی مہینوں میں تیار کیا ہوا پل آج بھی لاہور اور شیخوپورہ کے درمیان کوٹ پنڈی داس کے چھوٹے سے گاؤں کے پاس دیکھا جا سکتا ہے۔ اسی طرح کا ڈیگ پر ایک پل قدیم شاہی سڑک (جی ٹی روڈ) پر مریدکے سے کوئی 20 کلومیٹر شمال میں بھی موجود ہے۔ وضع قطع سے یہ پل پنڈی داس کے پل کی طرح 17ویں صدی کا ہی ہے لیکن یہ اس سے قدرے بعد کا بنا ہوا ہے۔ اس پل کی پراسراریت یہ ہے کہ مغل تاریخ میں ہمیں اس کی تعمیر کا کوئی ذکر نہیں ملتا۔ سنی سنائی باتوں سے صرف یہی خبر ملتی ہpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments
