From the Blog ummeyusufHere is the promised post about the Eid dresses I made for the girls. It took a few days to get cool and dry enough weather to get a photo shoot. The fabric for all three dresses was the same, though I used only two color schemes. (Could not find a nice enough color for the youngest, so used the same color scheme for her as the oldest). Fabrics are diamante chiffon for the tops and *dupattas* and *jamavar* for the bottoms. And *gota trim* on the shirts (*kameez*). For the younger two, I sewed *Kameez *with *shalwar*/straight pants. Now for the interesting part, and the star of my sewing _ the gharara. My nine year-old has recently developed in traditional flouncy pieces, so I offered to sew her a *gharara*. From the Blog the-emo-wolverine-writesI talked about this, a few months ago, about how one of my resolutions for 2016 was to buy a sketchbook and draw on it. I did in fact go out and buy a sketchbook and I did, in fact draw in it, but I found it lying around after a while. The pages were quite big and I honestly didn't have any idea how to fill such gigantic pages with something meaningful or pretty while having fun at the same time. That's when I realized that I could cut my sketchbook down in half and turn it into an informal journal. It seemed like quite the feat and I gathered my ideas and supplies and DIY links and waited for summer to roll around so I could get started on this little project of mine. We started the drive from Fatimid Foundation Hyderabad, where we distributed 26 rashan packets worth 4000/- each with month's food supply Alhamdulillah. Next we went to Fatimid Foundation Khairpur where we celebrated FAiTh's late founder Salman Mehmood & our member Hammad's birthday with thalassemia fellows. 75 fellows received Eid dresses, mehndi, bangles & watches. Volunteer applied mehndi to little thalassemia fellows. Our next stop was Fatimid Foundation Rashidabad, where we distributed 75 Eid dresses, mehndi, bangles & watches. If pakoras and samosas are not your thing and you prefer something cold instead, the monsoons bring with them a special blessing in form of the seasonal pulpy fruit, Jamun. Jamun (black plums) area a tasty fruit with their unique color and taste. It has a blackish-purple color and a sweet yet tangy flavor. Jamuns bring back many childhood memories for me of purple-stained tongues. We would race to get a darker color on our tongues. The fruit is usually eaten raw with the addition of a small amount of black salt on top. It is treated more like a snack rather than an after-meal fruit. Wrong. *Eleanor* is the new girl in town, and with her chaotic family life, her mismatched clothes and unruly red hair, she couldn't stick out more if she tried. *Park* is the boy at the back of the bus. Black T-shirts, headphones, head in a book - he thinks he's made himself invisible. But not to Eleanor... never to Eleanor. Slowly, steadily, through late-night conversations and an ever-growing stack of mix tapes, Eleanor and Park fall for each other. It's a monthly subscription box that contains wonderful stationery items based on a theme. I got this box for July with the mosssssst wonderful theme *Spark Your Creativity* This box made me pretty nostalgic too. I remember the time, crystal clear, when I used to go to my favorite stationery store downtown with my family and we'd buy essentials for schools and wrap them in brown wrappings to sort out later, all packed in bags with the store logo. The arrangement of the box was so similar; I couldn't stop the chills. There's something exciting about watching a film in a dark hall with popcorn and glasses, if it's a 3D movie, and a bunch of people are there with you and everyone hushing each other or talking or gasping at the jump scares. I personally love watching movies in the theaters. Here are all the movies I've seen till date. *Spiderman 3 (2007)*: I think I was around 10 when I watched this movie.
