Pakistan’s failure of imagination

It doesn’t necessarily do it in chronological order, though.” Douglas Adams’ these words most probably describe the policy making culture in Pakistan as well as our predilections in the matters of war and peace the best. Often enough we get chronology wrong. We fight when we need to talk. Talk when we have to fight. And throwing in the towel, hit the sack when staying awake is all but necessary. This last bit is has been turned into a national vocation. This nation of Rip Van Winkles (present company included, thank you very much) cannot even get its own history right.
