Pakistani Democracy's Disappointing Report Card On Education
From the Blog riazhaqData and graphs presented in Economic Survey of Pakistan 2014-15 show that the country has fallen considerably short of achieving UN Millennium Development Goals 2015 (MDG 2015), a set of goals agreed by UN member nations in the year 2000. Key MDG 2015 goals included: halving extreme poverty and hunger from 1990 levels, reducing by two-thirds the child-mortality rate and slashing maternal mortality by three-quarters and achieving universal primary education. Economic Survey of Pakistan 2014-15 Education Report also shows that the country was poised to achieve MDG goals in years 2001-2008 during President Musharraf's rule. So my husband arranged for me and our four minor children in a retired brigadier's huge country house. It had uncountable rooms. The bungalow was surrounded by crops fields, fruit gardens and stable. There was a mosque and houses for the workforce and big storage for wheat and rice. We enjoyed fresh milk, veggies and seasonal fruits. Hence it was a small village. The walls of the bungalow were made of mud. Each wall was one yard thick. In the past mostly the houses of even rich were made of mud as mud walls keep the home warm in winter and cool in summer. عالمی کپ تنازع کے بعد پہلا ہند-بنگلہ ٹکراؤ، کیا ماحول گرم ہوگا؟
From the Blog cricnamaبھارت اور بنگلہ دیش کے مابین سیریز بس شروع ہوا ہی چاہتی ہے۔ 10 جون سے واحد ٹیسٹ کا آغاز ہوگا جس کے بعد دونوں ٹیمیں تین ایک روزہ مقابلے کھیلیں گی۔ جب آخری مرتبہ دونوں ٹیمیں مقابل آئی تھیں تو یہ عالمی کپ 2015ء کا کوارٹر فائنل مقابلہ تھا جہاں بھارت نے 109 رنز سے باآسانی کامیابی حاصل کی۔ البتہ بنگلہ دیش سے اس مقابلے کو متنازع بنانے کی 'بچکانہ' کوششیں کیں اور امپائروں کے چند فیصلوں کو بنیاد بناتے ہوئے بین الاقوامی کرکٹ کونسل تک پر الزامات لگائے۔ اب دونوں ٹیمیں مقابل ہیں تو ایسے ماحول کا خدشہ ہے جس میں کھنچاؤ نظر آئے گا۔ ویسے بھارت کے وزیراعظم نریندر مودی اس وقت بنگلہ دیش کے دورے پر ہیں اور دونوں ممالک کے درمیان پیار کی پینگیں بڑھانے کی باتیں کی جارہی ہیں لیکن کرکٹ میں ماحول گرم ہوگا، چاہے بھارت کے کپتان ویراٹ کوہلی ماحول کو ٹھنڈا کرنے کی کتنی بھی کوششیں کریں۔ گرم مزاج کوہلی کہتے ہیں کpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full Post
