In 2003 US politicians orchestrated the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq based on blatant lies – lies that have cost the American people over $3 trillion. *Imagine what we could have done with this money:* With $3 trillion dollars, we could have guaranteed free higher education for all interested Americans. Instead, we are wallowing in over $1 trillion in outstanding college loan debt. With $3 trillion, we could have created a system of universal health care. Instead, affordable health care is still out of reach for many Americans and we have no idea if there will even be a Medicare system when we are old enough to retire.
