Govt Gets $450 Million from Two Telcos for Renewal of GSM Licenses
From the Blog propakistani The government of Pakistan has received payment amounting to US$ 449.2 million (equivalent of around PKR 71 billion) from two cellular companies respectively as their licence renewal fee. According to the Ministry of Finance, the license renewal fee of telecom companies collected by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is a significant source of non-tax revenue for the federal government. Telenor Pakistan confirmed ProPakistani that it has made the said payment. "Staying committed to Pakistan and our 44 million customer, Telenor Pakistan confirms that it has made a sizeable payment of USD 224.6 million to the Government of Pakistan towards renewal of its GSM license", said Kamal Ahmed, Chief Carporate Affairs Officer, Telenor Pakistan. From the Blog seems77 فاصلہ رکھیں (At Arm's Length) تحریر: آفاق احمد ایک انگریزی محاورہ ہے At Arm's Length ہمیشہ یہ محاورہ عجیب تاثر عطا کرتا ہے، بازو سیدھا کیجیے سامنے کی طرف تو دو سوا دو فٹ کی لمبائی بن جایا کرتی ہے۔۔۔ بظاہر یہ زیادہ فاصلہ نہیں لیکن حقیقت میں یہ ایک رکاوٹ، ایک Barrier کا باعث بن رہا ہے۔۔۔ ہمارے زمانہ طالب علمی میں بعض اوقات ایسے کلاس فیلوز ہوتے ہیں جن سے بے تکلفی بھی اچھی ہوتی ہے، گپ شپ بھی کبھی کبھی ہوجایا کرتی ہے لیکن اُن سے دوستی ایک مخصوص فاصلے سے آگے نہیں بڑھا کرتی یا یوں کہہ سکتے ہیں کہ اُن سے دوستی ہونے میں ایک مخصوص فاصلہ دوسرے کی طرف سے برقرار رکھا جاتا ہے اور یہ وہ فاصلہ ہے جسے Arm's Length قرار دیا جاسکتا ہے۔۔۔ سالہا سال کے یا بارہا تجربات کے بعد انسان کو خود ہی سمجھ جانا چاہیے کہ دوسرا فریق آپ کو Stop Sign دکھا رہا ہے۔۔۔ سلام بھی ہوگا، کچھ بے تکلفی بھی، کچھ گپ شpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full Post
