Cup of Tea – A touching true story

From the Blog iabhopal A group of 15 soldiers led by a Major were on their way to the post in Himalayas (Pakistan) where they would be deployed for the next 3 months. The batch who would be relieved waited anxiously. It was cold winter intermittent snowfall made the treacherous climb more difficult. "If someone could offer a cup of tea", the Major thought, knowing it was a futile wish. They continued for an hour before they came across a dilapidated structure, which looked like a tea shop but locked. It was late in the night. "No tea boys, bad luck", said the Major. But he suggested all take some rest there as they have been walking for 3 hours. "Sir, this is a tea shop and we can make tea… We will have to break the lock", suggested one soldier. Vision

From the Blog safdarsikandar I had been sitting alone with books, Till doubt was a black disease, When I heard the cheerful shout of rooks In the bare, prophetic trees. Bare trees, prophetic of new birth, You lift your branches clean and free To be a beacon to the earth, A flame of wrath for all to see. And the rooks in the branches laugh and shout To those that can hear and understand: *"Walk through the gloomy ways of doubt With the torch of vision in your hand."* *Aldous Huxley* . . . pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Everything I do, I do it for you

From the Blog afficer It was in the wee hours of a chilly November night on one of the Fridays. It was all silence outside except the insects stridulating. Inside in the room, with a mug full of hot coffee and listening to the soothing voice of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan, "Mai Khayal hoon kisi aur ka, mujhe sochta koi aur hai", I opened Facebook. On my wall, I saw status update from my "friend": Awarded Productive Scientist Award 2017. Only that it was neither an award nor it had to do anything with productivity. It was a directory, which enlisted anybody who wished to be listed. Scrolling further down, another "friend": Delivering keynote address at the International Conference. Only that he was just a participant who paid the fee and the picture at the rostrum was during the break when nobody waspakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments
