The Lahore School of Economics enters into partnership with Teach For Pakistan
From the Blog lahoreschoolofeconomics The Lahore School of Economics Corporate Social Responsibility Centre signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with “Teach For Pakistan” on May 21, 2015 at the Lahore School’s main campus in the presence of faculty, students and fellows from “Teach for Pakistan.” The Lahore School agreed to adopt an under resourced school in its surrounding area. Dr Shahid Amjad Chauudhry, the Rector Lahore School of Economics emphasized the importance of taking up its CSR Centre to an entire new dimension. He also commended the Lahore School’s CSR initiative in the health sector and encouraged the involvement of students and faculty for the betterment of society. Cricket comes home again
From the Blog mehmalToday, Pakistan will play against Zimbabwe at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Pakistani cricket fans are ecstatic. They cannot wait to see the match. Tickets for the first T20 have been sold out. And why not? We have waited for six long years for this. The images of the Zimbabwe cricket team arriving at the Lahore airport on our television screens made me shout out loud with joy. It was an emotional moment because after six years, international cricket was has finally returned to Pakistan. It has been a long wait. I vividly remember the day the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked back in 2009. Sitting in front of a television, I could not stop my tears while watching the horror that was unfolding in the heart of Lahore. PM directs for quick start of work on Diamer-Bhasha Dam

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday directed that acquisition of land for Diamer-Bhasha Dam should be done by the 31st of July this year to start the project of immense national importance. He directed that work should be started on this power project as soon as possible. Chairing 14th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy at the PM House, the Prime Minister asked Chairman WAPDA to present complete project proposal with timelines in the next meeting of Cabinet Committee on Energy.
