From the Blog cricnamaاگر دنیائے کرکٹ میں سے کسی ایک ایسی ٹیم کا انتخاب کیا جائے جو بیک وقت بڑے سے بڑے حریف کو شکست دینے کی ہمت ، اور ساتھ ہی معمولی سے معمولی مقابل سے بھی ہارنے کے خوف میں مبتلا ہو، تو وہ بلاشبہ پاکستان ہے۔ کرکٹ تاریخ کی چند ناقابل یقین فتوحات بھی اسی کے دامن میں ہیں اور چند ناقابل فراموش شکستیں بھی پاکستان ہی کے پاس ہیں۔ جیسا کہ عالمی کپ 1999ء میں بنگلہ دیش کے خلاف شکست۔ پاکستان اعزاز جیتنے کے لیے مضبوط ترین امیدوار تھا اور آخر میں چیمپئن بننے والے آسٹریلیا تک کو زیر کر چکا تھا لیکن 31 مئی 1999ء کو وہ بنگلہ دیش کو زیر نہ کرسکا۔ نارتھمپٹن میں ہونے والے اس مقابلے میں بنگلہ دیش نے 62 رنز سے کامیابی حاصل کی اور عالمی منظرنامے پر اپنی آمد کا حقیقی اعلان کیا۔ اسی مقابلے کی وجہ سے اسے ٹیسٹ کھیلنے کا درجہ بھی ملا لیکن اسے پھر کبھی یہ موقع نہیں ملا کہ وہ پاکستان کو شکست دے سکے۔ 16 سالوں میں دpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments
