Nirbhaya: An “Insult” to India’s Culture or a “Revolution” against Rape
From the Blog pakteahouse *Abhinav Pandya* Once, in sunny and snowy January day of my International Relations class in Cornell, I had to present a review of Benedict Anderson’s ‘Imagined Communities’. Anderson’s idea of nationalism as an imagined perception was quite appealing intuitively and rationally. Such an idea clearly exposes the dangers that are associated with perceptions, real or imagined and, the danger lies in the very fact that perception in its ultimate form is regulated, crafted and managed by human agency. When this happens, there are ample chances that the vested interests come into play, along with the deceit and other human frailties and the purity of perception is lost.
