Remoulding Our Value System in Age of Globalization
From the Blog pkhope During last four centuries or so, the Western countries have made tremendous progress in the fields of science and technology, developed advanced means of production, greatly expanded their economies as a result of, inter alia, colonial and neo-colonial exploitation and built institutions that have contributed to the welfare of their people. One outcome of this whole process is that the West has started considering itself culturally superior to others and aspires to impose its value-system based on social permissiveness, capitalism and liberal democracy on the rest of the world. This is in a way the essence of globalization. Why did the Muslim societies lag behind? There may be several answers.
