Learning Korean - Tenses (한국어 배우기 – 시제)

Now, I'm sure most native speakers of English (save for the English majors or linguistic majors) don't really know what each of these terms means, per se, so I shall explain. *Past perfect* means an action completed in the past, usually before something else. E.g. I *had gone* to bed before the snowstorm started. In Korean the ending for this is: 었었/았었/ㅆ었어(요) e.g. 눈이 많이 내리기 전에 내가 이미 *자러** **갔었다*. ***Past Progressive* means an action that happened in the past and continued in the past. E.g. I *was studying* because I have an exam tomorrow. In Korean the ending for this is: ~고 있었다 e.g. 내일 시험이 있어서 *공부하고** **있었다*. *Simple past* is the regular past tense that you and I use on a daily basis. From the Blog khawarkingعبدل ستار ایدھی صاحب اور افریقہ کے نیلسن منڈیلا صاحب ان دنوں علیل ہیں ۔ موت سے مفر نہیں۔ ہر سانس لینے والے ( نفس) کو موت انی ہی انی ہے لیکن کچھ لوگوں کا موت بھی کچھ نہیں بگاڑ سکتی۔ اپ دیکھ لینا کہ ان دونوں کے نام صدیون تک رہیں گے اور ان دونوں کے کام بھی بہت دیر تک لوگ دیکھتے رہیں گے موت سے تو ابو جہل کا نام بھی نہیں مر سکا اس لئے اپ دیکھ لینا کہ جرنل عیوب ، جرنل ضیاع ، جرنل یہی جا، کانام بھی تاریخ میں زندہ رہے گا لیکن انے والے زمانوں کا تاریخ دان لکھے گا کیا؟؟ شیخ سعدی شیرازی سے کسی نے پوچھا کہ اتنی عقل کہاں سے لی؟ شیخ سعدی شیرازی کے بتایا کہ بیوقوفوں سے!!!۔ کہ جو کام بیوقوف کرتے ہیں میں نہیں کرتا۔ انے والے زمانوں کے لوگ ملک چلانے کے اصول بنانے میں پاک جرنلوں کے نام لیا کریں گے کہ جو کام انہوں نے کئے وہ کام نہیں کرنے ہیں ۔ لیکن جرنل مشرف صاحب آفرین کے قابل ہیں کہ ان کے کاموں کیpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full Post
