The Miracle of the 2013 Elections
From the Blog borderlinegreen As a nation, we in Pakistan have been living an eventful five years. Not all of it was good, in fact not much was. The only good thing was that for the first time in my life (and a majority of Pakistanis who were not along in the early 70′s or not big enough to remember any of it) my country was being run by an elected government that completed its term. We had the longest running Prime Minister in office (despite not being able to complete his term) an independent judiciary and a free media, a free electronic media that brought us unfiltered news (most of the times). Now this may just be taken for granted by some one in the West but for us it was a big deal.
