Post election scenario in Israel and the two-state solution
From the Blog talalraza In the recent elections held in Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu's Likud party has won the majority again in the 120-member parliament also known as Knesset. According to final results, Likud got 31 seats. Likud is going to form coalition even this time to run the government. An unexpected thing that happened in the Israeli politics is that a center left party Yash atid headed by a TV anchor-turned politician Yair Lapid has emerged as the second largest party in Knesset with 19 seats. Meanwhile, another Center left Labor party got 15 and ultra orthodox Jewish Home party secured 11 seats. Before the elections, it was expected that Netanyahu, who also heads a conservative party, would form a coalition with conservatives like Jewish Home party as it was tipped to get more seats.
