InfoLinks Ads Spotted on a Government Website

From the Blog ProPakistani: InfoLinks Ads Spotted on a Government Website - InfoLinks Ads Spotted on a Government Website is a post from: ProPakistani Punjab Public Service Commission is using Infolinks.com ads for earning money! We can't say that this is a deliberate attempt from Punjab Public Service Commission to earn money out of its web portal, instead it is assumed that only webmaster is illegally earning money through this. Again we are not sure, maybe the whole department is involved in the corruptions. We have written in past on how badly the government websites are managed , just because the top executives have very little or no knowledge about the internet and websites. This is common now with government's official website that their webmasters are earning from banner and link ads. Thanks to Umer Fawad of PakExpert Technologies for tipping us on this Related posts: Adsense Spotted on Ufone's Website #Corporate Fail Government of Pakistan Goes for Blogging University of South Asia, Lahore – Promoting Porn or What? Message by Ali Asghar Khan on Solidarity Day 2011

From the Blog Teeth Maestro: Message by Ali Asghar Khan on Solidarity Day 2011 - The response to Solidarity Day 2011 has been amazing and the energy it has generated across the country inspiring. The objective of observing Solidarity Day had largely been met even before the eve of the New Year as we were all preparing for the next day's events. Aman Ittehad had been introduced in109 locations as activists and friends worked tirelessly and selflessly to mobilize people and spread the messages of the Ittehad. New contacts had been established and an awareness created that citizens across the country simply must get involved in shaping the destiny of this nation. On 1st January, Solidarity Day went on to reconfirm that Aman Ittehad is a viable and effective platform for citizens to raise their issues and their voices. It is not important if in some places the numbers did not meet the expectations of organizers or if in others these expectations were exceeded. What is important is that in 109 locations across the country there were people who expressed their resolve to affect change. Be the catalyst. We now must harness this energy that we witnessed from -16 degree Gilgit to the shores of Gwadar. It is also important to recognize that in many places rallies were held where the situation put the organizers and participants at great personal risk. The spirit of solidarity overcame all obstacles and people came out to express their concern for each other and in the hope that they shall together influence the course of future events. It is in this belief that we have to move forward and direct this rising tide. The information kept pouring in from various locations with pictures and telephone calls till late night on 1st January, indicating that all of us continued working long after the events were over. Collective efforts of so many has helped Aman Ittehad further establish its identity, clearly project its focus, greatly extend its outreach and begin to be recognized as a force for positive change. No doubt this also places greater responsibilities and generates more expectations. It is therefore important that we nurture this energy and spread the message of the Ittehad that has found resonance in the hearts of so many ordinary citizens. Let us together continue to strengthen Aman Ittehad as a platform which enables a new leadership to emerge that is more connected with people and committed to moulding the State into one that caters to the needs and aspirations of its people. We have covered much ground, and yet face a long journey ahead. But we have proven that we can help each other move closer to our destination and that the Ittehad can through our sincere efforts help shape an effective national movement. My big fa(s)t Pakistani wedding

From the Blog Kanwalful meets world: My big fa(s)t Pakistani wedding - I know there is no excuse for ignoring all you obsessed-with-me-human-beans-of-planet-earth but I was busy getting MARRIED. To Anes. All over again. I am pretty sure all my foreign readers are questioning my sanity right at this point, and so I will take out a little bit of my oh-so-precious time to explain why I have to keep doing marrying events every once in a while. Marrying event # 1 In June 2008 – Anes and I got engaged. Being engaged meant that we had given each other a verbal commitment (as per societal norms) and exchanged rings as well as announced our to-be-happening-in-the-near-future of a marriage. Please excuse my obese face. I am no longer as fat, or so I like to believe. Marrying event # 2 By December 2009, we were dying to be referred to as man and wife but since we were both very young our parents were not too okay with us being responsible for one another already. Apparently they think we are some kind of irresponsible nuts. Hence, we just got the paper work done in traditional Islamic fashion, aka the Nikah. This is the main part of the entire matrimonial process in Islam whereby the girl and boy publicly declare their intention to spend the rest of their lives together (insh’Allah). So yeah that is just what we did. Officially became man and wife. Only on paper though, and culturally we were still bound to behave like engaged individuals so I had to stick to my measly curfew of 11pm. (Insert imaginary picture here. The event was held at the mosque so we did not quite take proper pictures.) Marrying event # 3 By December 2010, Anes dropped the Bahrain-going-bomb on us all. Yeah, he is leaving on Saturday (insert sad, crying, wailing, tantrum-throwing, things breaking, hair-pulling face here). And so it was decided to officially do a wedding reception whereby I would be entitled to LIVE with Anes. But thanks to Bahrain and visa policies AND IBA I have to wait a whole obese month before I can actually GO to Bahrain. On the bright side we hosted a wedding reception and managed to pull it off with only TEN days to prepare. We are kind of cool like that. The wedding =)PS. Did I mention we had only ten days to prepare for the wedding? In Pakistani terms ten days to prepare for a wedding is like a minute in normal time. Oh I think I mentioned it before too. Anyway, yeah. I deserve a place in the guiness book of world records for my soaring acheivements. . Read Full PostComments
