From the Blog Eddy Straight From The Heart: MTV's Series 'Skins' : Opinions Divided - Article first published as Opinions Divided on MTV’s Series Skins on Technorati. I opened my Twitter page through Tweetdeck and in the Hollywood list was Denise Richards’ ‘ new tweet: “What is Skins?? Are these minors having sex??”The controversial MTV Series about teenagers and their skin and how they express through it has been a topic of great debate and heated discussion. It is obviously the most viewed new series on TV. Many people like celebrity Denise Richards have their doubts about the contents of the show. ‘Skins’ Star Sofia Black-D’elia says show is ‘What Teens Are Doing’. She is playing a lesbian in the series and thinks that the hype about the content being unsuitable is not fair to the show. She said on the HDNet show ‘Naughty But Nice With Rob’ this week, "It's what teens are doing. It's the way teenagers believe, I think, especially you know in certain situations when you come from home lives where your parents don't really support you or really listen to you. That's what most of these kids are going through. And so, um, the drugs and the sex, they're vices, and that's what teenagers have." The parents’ television counsel however, disagrees with Sofia and has urged Taco Bell to withdraw as sponsors of the show. At least five other advertisers have followed suit and Subway, H&R Block, Wrigley, GM and Schick Hydro have also opted out of Skins support.
