Boryeong Mud Festival (July 19-28, 2013)
From the Blog sarahinsouthkorea The 16th annual Boryeong Mud Festival, which kicked off this past weekend and will run until July 28, hopes to beat its record of 3 million participants last year. Organizers say this year's mud bath is expected to attract 300,000 foreign tourists, up 22,000 from last year. Korean media have reported that trains to Boryeong are already packed with dirt-ready foreigners. Call it the world's biggest mud fight or its largest group cosmetic treatment -- either way, millions of visitors are making their way to Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province this week for South Korea's most popular festival. The Resurrection of Pak Tea House(Part 1)
From the Blog pakteahouse[image: PTH3] How the Mighty Fell Pak Tea House, the original tea house which became the inspiration for the name of this webzine, had been reduced to a Tire Shop during the last decade. It used to be a place where all the literary lights of the times(From 1940s till 1980s) gathered for a cup of tea and intellectual discussions. Stalwarts of Urdu Literature discussed various ideas over hot cups of tea. [image: PTH] It was revived as a Tea House by the Punjab Government this year. After the revival, Progressive Writers Association held one of their regular meetings there and the following essay was read there by Historian Hassan Jaafer Zaidi.
