Distorting history

From the Blog mehmalAt Pakistan’s first international education and cultural festival, School of Tomorrow (SOT) — held in Karachi last week — I moderated a session titled, ‘Teaching History and Social Studies in Intercultural Societies’. The three panellists included a physicist who is also a professor, an architect and a journalist. The discussion was made interesting because all the panellists were quite open in highlighting the fact how we teach children distorted history from day one. While we were discussing history and social studies being taught in Pakistani classrooms, I was reminded of a quote by Roger Schank. TransferWise gets its 1st Money Transmitter License

From the Blog faisalkhan Update: Turns out Transferwise also has its Texas License… [image: Texas License] TransferWise, the online money transfer company started by ex-Skype cofounders: Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Käärmann and has the venture capital backing of Sir Richard Branson got its first money transmitter license, issued by the State of Maine. TransferWise was previously piggy-backing on PreCash’s license, until PreCash decided to exit the Authorized Delegate business because of trouble they had with the Texas regulator. In the interim period TransferWise has an FBO account arrangement with a bank. After PreCash incident, TransferWise decided to pursue its own money transmitter licenses.
