شاہ دولہ کا پل

From the Blog odysseuslahori جموں کی پہاڑیوں سے نکلنے والی دیوکا یا ڈیگ ندی تاریخ میں متلون مزاجی کی وجہ سے خاصی بدنام رہی ہے۔ عام طور پر تو یہ ایک معمولی سے دھارے کی شکل میں رہتی ہے، لیکن ساون بھادوں کی بارش میں بپھرا ہوا اژدہا بن جاتی ہے۔ تزکِ جہانگیری سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ سنہ 1620 کے بھادوں کی بارشوں میں شکار کے بعد شہنشاہ جہانگیر نے اس پر ایک پل باندھنے کا حکم دیا تھا۔ چند ہی مہینوں میں تیار کیا ہوا پل آج بھی لاہور اور شیخوپورہ کے درمیان کوٹ پنڈی داس کے چھوٹے سے گاؤں کے پاس دیکھا جا سکتا ہے۔ اسی طرح کا ڈیگ پر ایک پل قدیم شاہی سڑک (جی ٹی روڈ) پر مریدکے سے کوئی 20 کلومیٹر شمال میں بھی موجود ہے۔ وضع قطع سے یہ پل پنڈی داس کے پل کی طرح 17ویں صدی کا ہی ہے لیکن یہ اس سے قدرے بعد کا بنا ہوا ہے۔ اس پل کی پراسراریت یہ ہے کہ مغل تاریخ میں ہمیں اس کی تعمیر کا کوئی ذکر نہیں ملتا۔ سنی سنائی باتوں سے صرف یہی خبر ملتی ہpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full PostComments

Greece GDP Falls by 25% in Last Five Years

Dr. Papantiniou, Former Economy and Finance Minister of Greece (1994-2001) and President of the Centre for Progressive Policy Research, in his lecture "Economic Crisis in Greece and the Future of the Euro" was of the view that if talks between the lenders (ECB, IMF, and the EU) and Greece stall, Greece's economy would sink further into recession, and social tensions would rise as living standards would register a further sharp decline. Police officers transferred in different districts of Gilgit-Baltistan

From the Blog pamirtimes[image: GBP]Gilgit, May 5: While the region braces for its second election under the 2009 Empowerment and Self-Governance Order, the police department in Gilgit-Baltsitan has transferred nine officers to different districts. According to a notification, DSP Syed Jan has been deputed as OSDP Sost, DSP Javed to Nagar as OSDP, DSP Nawab to Ghizar, DSP Ghulam Nabi to Skardu, DSP Darwesh Ali to Skardu, DSP Zahid Hussain and DSP Ahmad Shabbir to Ghangche, while Ghulam Muhammad Shuja has been deputed from Skardu to CPO Gilgit. It is pertinent to note that under the election laws the bureaucrats cannot be transferred after announcement of polling schedule.
