From the Blog cricnamaعالمی کپ کے سیمی فائنل میں نیوزی لینڈ کو ناقابل یقین انداز میں فتح دلانے والے گرانٹ ایلیٹ کا بنیادی تعلق جنوبی افریقہ ہی سے تھا، یعنی کہ انہوں نے جس ملک میں جنم لیا، اسی کو عالمی کپ کی دوڑ سے باہر بھی کیا۔ گرانٹ ایلیٹ 21 مارچ 1979ء کو جنوبی افریقہ کے شہر جوہانسبرگ میں پیدا ہوئے جہاں ان کے والد پلاسٹک سرجن تھے۔ ایلیٹ جنوبی افریقہ کی 'اے' ٹیم تک کی نمائندگی کر چکے تھے، جہاں انہوں نے بھارت 'اے' کے خلاف مقابلہ بھی کھیلا تھا لیکن جنوبی افریقہ کے قومی دستے کے انتخاب میں کوٹہ سسٹم لاگو ہونے کی وجہ سے وہ قومی ٹیم میں نہ چنے جا سکے۔ اس مرحلے میں ناکامی پر نیوزی لینڈ کے سابق ٹیسٹ کپتان کین ردرفرڈ نے انہیں ملک چھوڑنے کا مشورہ دیا اور 2001ء میں وہ جنوبی افریقہ کو ترک کرکے نیوزی لینڈ آ گئے اور 2007ء میں انہیں بلیک کیپس کی نمائندگی کی اجازت مل گئی۔ انہوں نے نیوزی لینڈ کی جانب سے اپنا پہلا مقابpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full Post
