Pakistan yields to ‘big three’ temptation
From the Blog enThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday said it would lend its support to “big three”, aimed at revamping the International Cricket Council (ICC). The board’s support to the new set-up, however, is conditional. It demanded Pakistan be given the chance to play bilateral series with other cricket sides. The new revamp of the ICC gives most powers and revenues to the “big three” teams of cricket – India, Australia and England. Pakistan is the only country which has not approved these reforms. Pakistan and Sri Lanka abstained from voting when these reforms were passed in February during an ICC meeting in Singapore. But later Sri Lanka agreed to the revamp last month.
