Police Sentry Duty – Public behaviour towards Police
From the Blog dholsipahi If you ask me for one thing I hated most in Police Service back when I was young, the answer would be “Point Duty”. This means sentry duty at any point such as Mosque, Bank, Car Parking. Specially if it is for 12 hours and usually it is for the whole 12 hours. I remember my first appointment in the field was at a Suburban Police Station. Which had more than enough to offer when it came to sentry duties. Everyday for twelve hours, I had to go on some duty point carrying my service rifle. Stay there for the whole time without having nothing to facilitate my stay. I mean, no chair, no drinking water, no restaurant nearby to eat. Even if something is available nearby, It is always a risk to leave duty point in case the superiors come to check.
