Lahore Literature Festival…Ponderings
From the Blog borderlinegreen Lahore witnessed its first ever literary festival amid lots of fanfare and slight trepidation. whether the nascent event would live up to its expectations or be the last one of its kind is something yet to be seen in the coming years. The two day event witnessed a multitude of writers including William Darylymple, Bapsi Sidhwa, Mohsin Hamid, Muhammad Hanif, intellectuals like Ahmad Rashid, Ayesha Jalal, Hameed Haroon, Intizar Hussain,Asghar Nadeem syed, Khaled Ahmad as well as new writers, poets and old guards. All in all, it was a delectable mix of old world charm with new world enthusiasm. The response of Lahoris was more than expected, judging by the nature of Lahorites and their history of patronization of literature since centuries was more than evident in this festival. pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full Post
