On Analysis
From the Blog usefulthought-sI have recently been seeing a serial titled 'Castle' that is based on a team of detectives from NYPD with a strong romantic streak between the two lead roles. This is what I learnt from it: The approach I take when solving problems related to Computer Science is dito the same 'approach' these detectives take when solving a crime. In order to solve a crime they: 1. Start by plotting a time line on a white-board. 2. They then plot significant events around the time line. 3. They do thorough detailed research around each event. 4. By the time the puzzle is complete they know the exact chain of events that leads to the crime and that also points to the perpetrator of the crime. I use a similar method when trying to get new technology to work. By the time my puzzpakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full Post

For example, the famous 'brain in a vat' scenario. Epistemological skepticism argues that we cannot have knowledge until we can rule out the skeptical hypotheses: The skeptical hypotheses cannot be ruled out, hence we do not have knowledge. This argument however rests on a premise about the nature of knowledge, and the truth of this skeptical premise is simply being assumed without proof or demonstration. Apart from a skeptical bias, there is no reason to assume that knowledge is impossible until the skeptical hypothesis has been ruled out. Epistemological skepticism cannot be refuted, but the simplest way to avoid its conclusion is to not accept the pakistanblogs.blogspot.comRead Full Post
