Marriage is not for the kiddies

When I asked him about the one whom he is getting married to, he says that his parents chose the girl for him. When I asked him about the way the marriage is being conducted, he says that his parents have decided it already. When I asked him about the Mahar (the gift given during marriage by the bride groom to the bride), he says he knows nothing about it, and that his parents might have decided about it. When I asked him as to why he is taking dowry from the bride’s parents, he says that his parents have decided for him. And when I asked him about the extravagance done during the wedding, while the total expense is borne by the bride’s parents, he says that his parents have decided about it. The poor guy gets married. And his privacy is never seen in his house. His mother expects his wife to serve her like a maid. All IN ONE MAID rather. His wife has to cook, clean the floor, wash the bathroom, massage the mother-in-law’s legs, and not to forget, she has to prepare tea 24/7 for all the guests coming home. And when I asked him as to why his family is torturing the girl who got married to him, while dreaming of a beautiful married life, he says his parents are important for him. While his wife had conceived, she was sent to her parent’s house, for the delivery expenses to be met by his in-laws. When I asked him, as to why he did this, he says my parents have decided that. When she comes back with a child, the sister-in-laws want her to obey them. They want her to do the cooking for all the relatives of his. When I asked him about this, he says that his parents want it this way. After some days, when the woman, when she is not able to bear the torture at home, she wants to live peacefully as a nuclear family with her husband and child, the in-laws consider this to be an offense, and wants her to leave to her parents home. And later, the in-laws want their son to give divorce. And when I asked him about this, he says that his parents are important for him. Shame on this guy. I am ashamed to have him as my friend. This nation is ashamed of him. When a man cannot decide anything for himself, then it is better for him to live a life without a wife; for a woman dreams to have a man in life. It takes a lot to live like a MAN.
