The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
From the Blog Speak Your Mind!!!: The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader - Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:”Table Normal”; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:”"; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} This part is not bad & we have a couple of reasons to watch it; those of you who have seen other 2 parts, then you must see this one; if you happen to be a fan of C. S. Lewis, then you can't actually suppose to miss it. And last but not least, Ben Barnes is the most beautiful reason. Dawn Treader stars Georgie Henley, Skandar Heynes, Will Poulter and Ben Barnes along with the voices of Liam Neeson and Simon Pegg. This installment is the story about Lucy, Edmund & their horrible cousin Eustace (who towards the end becomes very sweet & helpful) & how they break the final enhancement. Reepicheep as usual looks so cute in the entire movie & it's hilarious when he says period & exclamation mark after finishing a sentence when he was pissed off. They are on a quest to rescue 7 noble lords who are missing (they were lost while fighting evil on another island) & they have swords that would protect Narnia. This is the last adventure. We don't get to see so much of Susan in this part but Lucy was quite obsessed with her beauty or (lack there of). Reepicheep says to Eustace when he transforms into a dragon & was quite upset about it that extraordinary things only happen to extraordinary people.I really like this dialogue. . Read Full Post
Past, Present and Future
From the Blog Eddy Straight From The Heart: Happiness : Past, Present and Future - “I begin with the name of Allah, the most merciful”. Article first published as Happiness : Past, Present and Future on Technorati. Happiness is a rare commodity these days. People in the past were happier than we are , and generally more satisfied with their lives. This meant that they had more fulfilling lives than an average person can claim to have today. The question is: What has changed in the way we live that has caused us to be less happy and more dissatisfied? The answer lies in the way we interpret the meaning and purpose of living. People in the past used the resources available to them to fulfill their needs and considered food and shelter as their basic goals. We, unlike them, have made our wants into perceived needs and hence are never content. Needs are basic and, once fulfilled, provide sustenance and relief, while wants can be limitless; once fulfilled, the list is refreshed with others. Happiness based on needs is easily achievable and maintained while happiness derived from wants is never achieved since wants are varied and growing. The perception of food, family, work and love have changed drastically in the modern way of living. We are unhappier than our predecessors because they savored food while we eat it for survival. They worshiped work while we have reduced it to a mere source of money. They cherished family while we have populated old homes and foster houses. They believed in love while we prefer lustful connections over commitments. They lived life to the fullest while we have no spare time to live! Another reason that we are less happy than people before us is the fact that now we are more aware of the people and the world around us. People of the past compared themselves to the mayor of a city or the president of a country but we can compare ourselves to the richest man in the world! Our exposure leads us to follow the rich of the world, but we ignore their hard work and only blindly aspire to lead a life like them. I mean, if I associate my happiness with the dream of being the next Bill Gates, then I would only aspire to have as much money as he, but would not remember that he was once penniless and struggled to be where he is. Since I want to be in his spot without the effort he put in, I would get frustrated and remain unhappy! Happiness has a lot to do with nature. We have rapidly forced nature to react and cause hurdles in our happiness. We reduced death rates only to force nature to introduce newer and deadlier diseases. We made weapons for defense, but nature, our inner nature, forced us to rob and kill using them. We made vehicles to tear through the bosom of the earth, but nature divided us through boundaries. We tried to speed up everything, but that left us no time to rejoice, and therein lies the reason for our distress. Happiness is not very difficult to experience. It is in the simplest of things: in the smile of a newborn, in the first ray of the morning sun, in the kiss of the beloved, in the embrace of a mother, in the smell of chocolate and in the richness of pasta is hidden a happiness so enchanting that it makes life worth living! Life in the past or the present is the life that has gone by. The future, however, can hold as much happiness as we are prepared to gather. . Read Full Post
