This is saddening. So much was expected of him! He was the former crown prince of Iran. And how he spent his life in exile was indeed tragic! Strange things happen in life. You're raised to become something & you end up somewhere else. In 1979, Reza Pahlavi left Iran at the time of the Iranian Revolution. He wrote 3 books on the state of Iran. On his website he calls for a separation of religion and state in Iran and for free and fair elections “for all freedom-loving individuals and political ideologies”. Pahlavi wrote in his book, Winds of Change: "Since the advent of Islam, our clergymen have served as a moral compass. Spirituality has been an inseparable part of our culture…Today, moral guidance has been replaced by clerical censorship and dictatorial fiat." Rest in peace Ali Reza! . Read Full PostComments

From the Blog That's Wrong!: Salu bai of Daily Times - The last voyage  of Salmaan Taseer. Slain Governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer was born in an educated family of the Lahore’s walled city. His father, MD Taseer, was a renowned professor in Lahore’s Government College. Salmaan’s mother was a German national who was sister of legendary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s wife. Salmaan’s father died when he was 6 years old. He had a modest beginning in life. He acquired all the fame and wealth by himself. He had a corporate mindset. He developed accountancy and management firms and also made stints in politics. He was not a public person, therefore lost many elections. He gave up politics and turned his attention to making money and he did really well in it. He owned a media chain containing two newspapers, a television station and a social magazine. Staff at Daily Times would call him Salu Bai. The only time we published  a news about him on the front page of the paper was, when he was appointed as governor of Punjab. He had instructed not to put his name on the front or back pages of the newspaper. I have seen the place where he was born. No one else from his locality has acquired fame as he had. .
