Icarus

From the Blog Bleargh!: Icarus - “You’ve got to get yourself together You’ve got stuck in a moment And now you can’t get out of it Don’t say that later will be better Now you’re stuck in a moment And you can’t get out of it” If only you had any idea of the way you hurt me. How its like a stake through the heart whenever my eyes fall on those little tokens of love you’ve scattered all around. How the pain consumes me as each fresh glance is a twist of the dagger. How a part of me dies …each time I have to walk past, knowing it with all my heart to be wrong . Would you listen to my wounded cries? Would you look past the hurt in my eyes and feel my pain? Like a soul writhing in anguish before its last breath, I wish I could rip you off before I die. . Read Full PostComments

The Truth About Lying

From the Blog Eddy Straight From The Heart: The Truth About Lying -   “I begin with the name of Allah, the most merciful”. Lying is a common vice in the common man. The truth about lying is that although it lacks longivity it certainly provides an easy way out of a problem. A lie feeds on our weaknesses, growing in magnitude and gravity. It needs a net of connected lies for its sustenance. We start off by telling a lie to take control of a situation but the lie takes control of our lives instead. It consumes us to the point where all our energies are exhausted just to keep the lie going. In fact we stop living life and start living the lie instead. Why do we lie? The question has many answers. There are many pressures that lead us to be untruthful. The foremost endorsement for lying is provided by our parents when they present examples of deception in our daily lives. From a petty lie on the telephone to a lie to keep us quiet, our parents feed to us the recipe of creating lies at will. We in turn transfer the art to our children and the cycle continues. Lies flourish! Peer pressure is another catalyst to the lying process. We follow people and trends and in our effort to be hip we construct lies galore. The grass is always green across the fence and to tell the people on the other side that your grass is greener is made easier through the art of lying. Society compels us to lie at times. The social norms are a way of life and may often coincide with our beliefs. The only way to gel in with the system is to portray oneself as someone else. This extreme form of lie often encompases a persons real self and transforms him into what he has impersonated. Hence the lie becomes the person! All said and done, at the end of the day a Liar stands alone often unable to even face the person in the mirror. The lie is most harsh to the liar himself because for the most part he is the one who faces the greatest deception. The truth about lying is that how hard you try a lie will never be true! .
