I never knew that the role the new guy from the movie Action Replayy – Aditya Roy is playing was first offered to Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor, however has reservatios about sharing screen space with Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar and so he refused this role. Aditya Roy, on the other hand, has received a positive welcome from the audience so far in Action Replayy. He used to be a VJ earlier on. He is also playing a part in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzarish. Apparently in Guzaarish, Aishwarya is his confidante and sympathetic shoulder, while in Action Replayy Aish is playing his mother’s role. I feel the boy has a good start now. If he turns out to be a good actor, he might do well in the future. He is extremely thankful to Aish as he says he has been helping him tremendously on the sets with his acting although he is just a new entrant and it really means a lot to him. Aditya’s elder brothers have been in TV and film making as well but he says acting is not a burning ambition for him. He, however, made his official acting debut in the movie London Dreams when he played a Pakistani band member in Ajay Devgan’s rock band. Aditya also feels lucky that in his short film time, actors like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan were all helpful towards him. Which reminds me of how Rani ji is acting all superior to Vidya Balan in their upcoming movie in which they are playing sisters. It is strange to imagine how they act on the set and as soon as the scene ends they never talk to one another. People say it is Rani Mukherjee’s unapproachable attitude that makes it difficult for Vidya Balan and so there is no conversation taking place. From the Blog Five Rupees: Imran Farooq's Funeral, MQM The Political Party Shows Up - By AKS. The city braces itself for yet another funeral. Dr. Imran Farooq's body arrived in the city from London a short time ago. Offices, colleges, markets and bazaars all remain closed and the city is gripped with fear that the funeral will be marred by violence. The MQM to their credit appear to be doing their utmost to ensure this doesn't happen and the entire funeral has been meticulously planned. The MQM directed its workers to stay away from the airport and Dr. Farooq's body was quickly shifted to his family home. The area in and around the family home, Jinnah Ground, where the funeral prayer will take place, and graveyard has been completely cordoned off; every single person wishing to attend the funeral prayer / procession, and there are a LOT, are being checked by the police and MQM workers. The MQM is also sending out a positive political message. Leaders from all other political parties have been invited to the funeral, and in fact the Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister Rehman Malik were present at the airport as well. Religious leaders from various sects have also been invited. Abdul Sattar Edhi is also present, though he appears to be there for personal reasons as Imran Farooq once served as an Edhi Volunteer. There are many things wrong with the MQM but as Imran Farooq's funeral demonstrates it remains immensely popular in Karachi and is hands down the most well organized political party in Pakistan, Simply calling it a terrorist organization without does it a great injustice. Side Note: When Imran Farooq was elected MNA he was provided with an official residence in Islamabad at a complex that contained the residences of many other parliamentarians. Apparently Imran Farooq, unlike the other parliamentarians, did most of his own chores and was very friendly with the domestic staff, leading him to become extremely popular amongst the staff.
