An Evening with Connie.N.Lash. (Part 1)

From the Blog Young Pakistan: An Evening with Connie.N.Lash. (Part 1) - Connie.N.lash,is an american lady,a wonderful person.A mother to four and a wife to a very busy doctor. She has a number of things on her hand and mind but still, she finds ample time to interact with people living in the other part of the world. She has been a wonderful friend to us Pakistanis online and practically. Her efforts and interest in the matter of Aafia Siddique is known to all our readers. She also has a ambition since long, which is become a writer. And we hope and wish she would make a very great one. Recently,Upon my request she decided to give a sort of interview about herself and her thought about us and the world. This is part one of the interview. Q)What are your views about the current situation of the world? Connie:- "These days, I look at world news different - mostly because ofPakistanis I've "met" online - and I don't mean Facebook. I'm talkingabout blog and email exchanges. American friends sometimes areunbelieving that I can really experience friendship and change who Iam this way. Let me tell you some of the ways this is happening tome: Even this morning as Hilary Clinton and others threaten thePalestinians by saying they should not to take their cause to the UNover the as yet more Israeli settlements, I wonder - in a moreincredulous way than I might have PRE-Pakistani - why not? Have the"big nations" helped Palestinians yet? For Palestinians to want to goto the United Nations for help looks to me like a peace gesture ontheir part." Q)That's wonderful. How did you find the Pakistani people, especially the youth, when you interacted with them on different platform.? Connie:- "Young Pakistanis - often you who are very young and make up about onehalf of your nation - you demonstrate that you can sometimes getbeyond your own nation's needs to care for the suffering elsewhere. And many young in my country could care less about the state of theworld. And here you are, getting through to people like me - anolder American - in a profound way." . Read Full PostComments
